Have you ever had difficulties knowing who to contact for merchandise licensing enquiries for a particular character property? Business opportunities can be lost during the time it takes to search for the rights owner!

This forum session will take a look at the Japan Content Catalog (JACC), an online data search system which contains basic information and rights holder contact details for Japanese contents including movies, TV programs, animation, characters, music and games. Another database, the Anime Chara DB, a specialist animation & character search portal, will also be demonstrated. This session is recommended for companies seeking out Japanese contents and businesses that own Japanese contents who may be considering to register their contents on the sites.

*JACC and Anime Chara DB are part of projects aggregating copyright information under a Japanese governmental subsidy program to support the overseas development of Japanese regional content that was implemented under supplementary budgets of the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry for fiscal 2015. These databases aim to facilitate the utilization of Japanese contents as well as promote business matching between contents holders and buyers both in and outside Japan.
